I read the string type FAQ, but there are some unanswered question i have about the sounds of different types like what's the difference in sound between:

Round wound on a Fretted
and
Flat wound on a fretted

Round wound on a fretless
and
Flat wound on a freltess

I do not have enough money to find out myself...

flatwound=Softer, less sharp attack, warmer.

Round=brighter sound

to each their own. and no flatwounds do not sound like $hit. depending on the type of music you play, they might not work. but for me, their perfect. and i agree with vindy500 why don't you go back to moron land.

For the flatwound haters, I have one name for you: Steve Harris!

You can stop hating flatwounds now, and continue to enjoy Iron Maiden at your leisure
