I'm currently shopping around for some new flats for my fretless. I was wondering what you guys like, so whats your favorite set of flatwounds and why do you like them.

Thomastik-Infeld Jazz Flats... these stings are silky smooth to the touch (and your fingerboard), the are low tension making them very easy to play, they tune up easier than any other string I've used, and best of all, they sound great... very clean with great sustain.

I've only tried two types: Ernie Ball and D'Addario Chromes. I prefer the D'Addarios because they don't get as sticky, and they sound excellent on my fretless P.

LaBella Deep Talkin' flats.

I had to drill out the bridge to fit the e-string, besides that it's "the perfect set"

LaBella 760FL (043-104 gauge).
Great tone, and not too floppy OR too tight.

d'addario chromes, cause i can get them in a higher gauge than normal set. also, they are a little brighter than the rotosounds and the fenders.

TI Flats- They were made for a percision.

Roto-flats- Sound great on a Jazz.

GHS- my sleeper flats, not alot of people useing them.
Soud great, med, tension, a cross between T I's
and Chromes.
I like gage, with a 95 for E-string.

I've only tried 2 sets recently: TI and Sadowsky. I preferred the TI's for their tone.

I thought the Fender flats were very cool, but the last time I tried 'em was 20+ years ago...
