Where can I buy Lakland strings?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm looking for some Lakland medium gauge stainless steel strings (.045) for my 55-02. It looks like the Lakland online store is out of stock now and all the online string suppliers I know of don't offer them.

I know that there's other brands that'll work on a Lakland 5 string, but I really prefer the house brand. Anybody know of a dealer that has these strings in stock?

Well, nevermind! I guess they are out after all. You may have to wait until they can get some more in.

Here's what you could do. Buy a 4 string set and take your B string off your bass and soak it overnight in some denatured alcohol. That should get you by until they get some in. It's worth a shot.

You might try a set of GHS Super Steels. I beleive the Lakland strings are all GHS strings. I know the Lakland Nickles sound, die, and got out of tune just like GHS Boomers. And the Joe Osborne flats are indistinguishable from GHS Precision flats to the point I can't recall which of my basses has the GHS set, and which has the Lakland set of flats. It's been at least 20 years since I used a set of GHS Super Steels, but I love the Lakland stainless sets.
