Where can you find used flats???

Once in a while on here you may find a set, even evilbay never has any. Does a place exist to purchase used flats?
I love the sound of flats, but I hate the sound and waiting for new flats to break in.

yep generally cant find used flats anwhere, but since theyre dead flats are more useful than dead rounds people hold onto them, the classifides here are generally the best place ,i actually traded some new roundwounds for a pair of ti flats that have made me very happy, playing on them right now actually.also u can find some good eb flats on ebay for about the same as rounds in the store.

kinda gross though, as the makeup of the grease or w/e gets in and deadens strings is different from one person to the next..

plus the only way to really get YOUR sound is to fill the strings with YOUR grease

Isn't that what a tone knob is for?

I find used flats on my basses. The great things about having more than one bass is you can break in strings on one while you gig with the others. Like others said, used strings just seem so gross to me. Just think about how many men you see when you are gigging that go into the bathroom and don't wash their hands. Sure you could be buying them from someone with good personal hygiene but then again they could have every skeevy disease known to man and scratch areas of their bodies on a regular basis.
