I've heard strange things are afoot there.

They opened a couple near me. I hear that the one in San Dimas California has this sweet phone booth that can carry you back through time.

I get the site back now in its entirety - you can place orders through it unless there is something I need to know about.

I'm still waiting on shirts and apparel.

And Skip, the quartet wanted me to thank you again for the strings; the keyboardist looked over during a song on Friday's show and mouthed the words "Are those the strings I like? I can hear EVERYTHING!"

Got it - keyboardists dig the strings, and drummers dig the basses.

Sorry to make you worry, that was a Bill & Ted reference.

I picked up the balanced 5-string set with 135 B and have been diggin' how great the strings feel. I used to struggle a bit with the E and B strings and would often work out more intricate parts an octave up and then try to get them happening on the E and B. The B is way more focused sounding than it's ever been and is much more solid to play.

I'm thinking I want more tension though to stiffen things up. I'm concerned about that 175 though. Might have to widen the nut slot on my SR5 to accommodate that beast.

Has anyone used that 175 balanced set? How much tighter are the strings?

I might just have to break down and see for myself.

The .175 and .185 are meant for low F#. You'd better have a graphite neck and strong fingers if you want to tune them to B.

Your best course of action is to do like me and keep nagging at skip every chance you get, to hurry up and get that .145 to the store.

Did you hear that, Skip?
