Where do I get a set of SIT PSR100195 (SubContraBass) Strings?

After a bout of insainity I've decided that I would like to explore the lower realms of sound and string a 5 string with the .195 .196 .135 .100 and add a .95.

I've been told I need to custom order them from SIT. How much does that run? Can I get them anywhere else?

That's a crazy string gauge. What kind of tuning would you use with that kind of gauge?

I suppose those strings are for C#F#BEA tuning. Though the gauge of the second string can't be right (.196?).

I don't know where to get them, but I remeber that some time ago someone posted a website to order custom strings, and they had .195
Perhaps send a PM to JAUQO he knows for shure.

You need very special cabs for that kind of frequencies.

34 bucks for a string?

How much is the set? Or do I do singles?

Last set I bought was for my 4 string bass, which I strung F#, B, E, and A (Tuned up half a step to G C F A#).
I bought these as individual strings.
You might call Conklin to see if you can get them cheaper as a set.
Also you will need to widen the slots on the nut, and possibly the holes on the bridge, to accommodate the strings. An adjustment of the truss rod and the intonation may also be needed.

Call Bob Hird at SIT. He will fix you right up. These are really good people.
