Where's that low end bite?

So, last weekend I bought some ML fender flatwound strings to put on my Ibanez AEB10 A/E bass, and wow, what a step up from those crappy phosphor bronze strings. The only problem I have is, when i play through my amp, I really can't find that low end bite I look for in my tone. I was thinking about putting flatwounds on my only other bass (electric), but now I'm reconsidering because of the lackness of bite. Will there be any low end bite on my electric or will it just be completley warm?

Flatwounds are used mostly for that warm tone, but usually there isn't too much bite. I'd try using nickel roundwounds if you want to keep that bite but have some warmth.
