Who else uses roundwounds on their fretless?

I was using EXL-220 rounds on my MIM-J fretless. Great mwah, rich sound, but started chewing up the board.

I replaced them with TI Flats.

I've been using DR Highbeams 40-100 on my fretless Ibanez since I made it a fretless about 4-5 months ago now. Theres wear on the board, being rosewood, but it's holding up well. I was gonna epoxy it, but I've decided not to for now as the board has a lot of life left.

I might try flats on it for a little while though. Not sure which ones though, I played the Jaco Sig bass in Rudy's and like the flats that were on it, anyone know which flats Fender strings that bass with?

Chris Stambaugh shipped my fretless with D'Addario XLs (nickel) on it. I liked the tone and have continued using them ever since. I had previously used DR Sunbeams on my Roscoe LG3000 fretless before I sold it. Ebony boards on both.

An old bass instructor of mine put something like contact paper on his fingerboard. He said it worked really well. It was so long ago, I can't remember exactly what it was, though.
