Lots of discussion here about who makes the best B string, but who makes the best E?
I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest D'Addario. They consistently have very, very good E and A strings; rich and harmonic, vibrant. |

D'Addario D and G strings always seem a bit too tense, compared to the E and the A. But, the E and A each sound great. |

Mine (.096, .100, .106) are all two wraps. I believe it makes a difference - but then I got a dog in this fight.

Now I think I understand how Circle Ks retain elasticity while simultaneously achieving a higher tension at pitch when compared with other brands of similar/identical gauges.
...I look forward to trying them. |

I think daddario pro steels are too noisy. Too many overtones, not enough fundamental.
