Who makes coated nickels?

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently tried a set of Bootzillas, and the feel is pretty good, but I went the coated route for string life. I prefer the sound of nickels though, can anyone recommend any good coated nickels? I like the feel of Lo Riders, I like the tension they have, so I'd be looking for something similar to them. I searched, but I didn't come up with anything. Thanks.

I'd almost suggest Elixirs, as they're my only experience, but the tension is on the higher side (on my basses anyways) and the feel really isn't like any Steels I can think of - it almost feels slippary at first.

Thanks, I'll have to try them. When I say I prefer Lo Riders, I'm talking the tension. I like the feel of nickels, they feel smoother to me, and I prefer the sound.
