Who uses DR strings on Music Man basses?

I've been digging DR Hi Beams for quite a while. But I have yet to use them on a MM bass. The last time I had a MM SR5, I had not experienced the beauty of DRs. However, I have switched now from a MTD KH5 to a SBMM Ray 35 and I'm missing my Hi Beams. I just ordered a set of Hi Beams and am anxious for their arrival. If the Hi Beams don't work out, then I'm banking on the Sunbeams next.

I'm curious to know who here uses DR strings on a Music Man bass. Please let me know which DR strings you use on which MM bass and what your experiences have been (good or bad).

I may find myself going to Sunbeams next. Only time will tell. How would you characterize the sound?

What about the Black Beauties didn't you like? I can't really say anything about them seeing as though I have no experience with the coated strings.

I can say something about those...

The coated strings are not about longlivity, they die much faster than e.g. hi beams, but they sound fantatsic on my 71 jazz bass! They give an old school broken-in sound that works great with older traditional basses, brings bucketloads of character to them. BTW if you are into slap, this is not what you should try anyway.

Out of the DR range I liked the hi beam the most, long life good character warm yet great for slapping, the only down side is the low string tention, meaning you cant really set the action real real low.
Anyways you always should try as many strings as possible to know what suits you best.

My Musicmans are all 4 stringers, and I use High Beams on them.
Nothing like slapping that drop-D tuned string and hearing the deep-dark shimmering 'kraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang'.

I have DR nickel Lo-Riders on my Stingray 5 and Sterling 5 and they sound great. Nice growl and excellent B-string.
