Who uses flats on a six string fretted??

here's the deal, i am having a custom six string singlecut semihollow made and i am thinking on using flatwounds on it. any one have any experience with this ?? or similar. my band plays kind of funk/blues/classic rock my influences are Hendrix/ Allmans/Galactic/Meters and the like here's the specs on the bass it's self

Semihollow Singlecut 6 string
Body: 5 piece Brazilian Chery/flamed maple/mahogany/FLM maple/ Braz. chery

Neck: 5 piece Maple/purpleheart/Braz Cherry/purpleheart/maple

Lane poor Jazz pickup in the neck LP humbucker in the bridge w/ Aguilar OBP-3 preamp

any comments or experiences welcome
