Who Uses A 'Pair Of Strings'?

Sign in to disble this ad
OK, I know I'm old but, I tend to use 4 or 5 strings and apparently some of you only need 2:

"I got a pair of these strings..."

"They sound surprisingly well and I'd like to pickup another pair."

"The thing I would advise is to buy a pair and use the crap out of them."

"They refused to give me another pair on discount so the day I went in to record I had to put on the cheapest pair of d'addario's I could get...."

"...ive been playing the same pair of strings for a year now...."

What gives?

yeah, I wear a pair of pants too... but you know it's just one.

(I call it a "set" of strings when on an instrument and a "pack" of strings while still packaged)

Are you going to use a pair of scissors?
Or just one scissor?

My brother had a pair of pants and one leg got totally shredded (bike accident, maybe) and we called it "the pant."

Of course then you can't wear your bass high and tight.
