been thinking about trying them out on a few basses, but my jazz bass is in love with the TI jazz flats... might try the rounds on my '74 gibson ripper, or my fodera fretless...

are they similarly low tension/light gauge?

hmmm... that could be perfect for the ripper, as it has some neck issues that might be helped by low tension strings.

I just put the TI Jazz rounds on my MM Sterling and it plays and sounds awesome. The bass is effortless to play and the growly tone i'm getting is unbelievable. They are a little pricey but worth it IMHO !!

I have the JRs on a '66 Jazz and I like them a LOT. They sound great on that bass, very dynamic, even and responsive. Plus they are the slinkiest feeling strings I've ever played. I really love the way they feel.
They're even lighter tension than the flats. The E string is teeny tiny. It takes a couple of minutes of playing to adjust, no big deal - unless you play really hard, then you're going to have a problem.

I have TI flats on another Jazz and really enjoy that combination as well.
