why does this happen??

i only use ernie ball regulars.

i put a new set on a few weeks ago. of course all the the string die a tad but the A strig is DEAD....and i mean DEAD...nowhere near the other strings.....

Maybe because you use the A string more than any other string on the bass?..

not really.....i mean it's DEAD.....like not even close to the other strings....on a different planet......it happens every now and then....

I have this problem with EB strings on occasion too. It makes me so damn mad. I've started buying any EB strings at Guitar Center (not my favorite merchant) because I think they likely have the freshest strings because of a good turnover. I think bass strings should have a "born on" date or something.
