Will D'Dario ETB92S fit a Hofner Contempory

http://www.amazon.com/DAddario-ETB92.../dp/B005FKF4JC
or will I have to pay extra for the Labella's tapewound. I had gotten the regular long scale D'Dario tapes but the E string couldnt get past the tailpiece. I can't find any info regarding the ETB92s on Hofners.

I have ETB92S short scale medium gauge on a Landing bass....very nice tapes....but you'll need medium scale and light gauge to fit on the Hofners......I just got myself an Icon Club bass today and I'll either put the D'Addario tapes (med. scale...light gauge) on it or the Labella's Beatle flats.....but it would be nice to know if anyone as tried the tapes on it first before I purchase some

I will share this comment with our development team. Not only SHOULD it fit but we should also probably offer .045-.100 in Medium Scale. I'll mention this in next weeks meeting.

Speaking from personal experience I can say it doesn't. The E string will fit but only if I force it in there good. Actually now that I think about it, it wouldn't fit through the tuning peg either.

With the La Bella Beatle bass strings the tuning post section it's made very thin for this reason.

Though every HBB I have played managed to jam standard rounds or flats through the posts... (the ones on the shelf in the local vintage shop that is). Really only 1/4 inch needs to squeeze into the post at most, so i'm sure that can be accomplished with some crimping if really needed...

I'll keep that in mind DD!

That would solve the problem right there......thanks
And I'd be able to put those tapewounds on a few other shortscales hanging around my house......I really love those strings I'm even thinking of putting some on my active Fish headless bass but not sure if they'd start unwinding once clipped at the top of the neck.....otherwise I'd have done it already.....thanks DD

Thanks for your email reply on the Labella FHBB yesterday....I really wanted to put the ETB's on my new Club but I guess the Labellas will have to be it until ETB's can fit the Club properly.....you'll be getting an order any time now....thanks....
