Will high tension strings ruin my Geddy Jazz neck?

Just strung up some Fender Flats 9050s... 105/90/70/55

The high tension has added a considerable bow that wasnt there with my Labella 760FLs.

I am going to adjust the TR, but is the high tension bad for the neck. Like I said it seems quite bowed.

It seems perfectly normal for a neck to bow more with heavier strings. That's what the trussrod is for. 105/55 isn't that heavy anyway.
Make sure you "help" the trussrod by pulling on the neck while you turn the screw.

yeah, I adjusted the TR and it really helped. these strings are alot heavier than i am used to. the g wont even fit the groove of the nut on my geddy. so far i am liking these strings because of the low action they give me.

oh and non je ne parle pas francais!

mind your hands. don`t run into a tendonitis issue. i did so with fender flats in a single night-long blues session...

Get a pro set-up done, you'll be happy.

I had a "pro setup" before by one of the best bass techs in my area. I asked for low action and what i got wasnt that great. Anyway, these fender 9050s have allowed me to set my bass up with the lowest action I have ever been able to achieve. Higher tension strings are definitely the way to go for low action without buzz.
