Will LaBella 5-string "Deep Talking" tapewounds fit my Ibanez 405QM

Guys,

I have an Ibanez 405QM bass that desperately needs a string change (they get out of tune 3 minutes after tuning it!). After doing a lot of reading, I've come to the conclusion that I'd like to get the quality of LaBella's Deep Talking Tapewounds. I never need my bass to sound super metallic (so I don't need the roundwound sound), but I do like dialing in a little of grit when playing funk or pop gigs (or when I'd rather sound like the modern salsa sound you hear in Marc Anthony or NG La Banda, as opposed to the warmer upright "baby bass" sound of older salsa). For the most part, however, I play Latin-jazz, salsa, South-American/Brazilian, and Jazz gigs, so these will give me the darker tone I need.

My fear, however, is that these strings won't work on my 35" Ibanez 405QM. Will they, or are they too short? I've heard Carvin's site is the cheapest to get these strings. Anyone wish to point me to a better place to get them online?

They fit 35" scale just fine. And Carvin's is the cheapest place I know to get them.

I like the Status-Graphite tapewounds better though. They're a more standard gauge, and have a lighter tension. They do cost more though.

thank you...I'm heavily thinking of ordering them. I've read a lot of great reviews of these strings...most of them coalesce around the claim that many bass players have had them for 1-3 years without a reduction in tone or tuneability. That's very amazing.

Does anyone else have a cheaper place to find them online? Otherwise, I'm probably going to order them tommorow from Carvin.
