Will these strings fit on my extra long scale?

Hey guys.

I want some DR strings for my 6-string extra long scale bass. This is a bass I bought recently, and I don't know if these will fit.

Can you help me out here?

We'd need to know the the string length from ball-end to nut on your new bass.

That string set is 38" from Ball End to Taper.

These will fit many "Extra Long Scale" instruments but that really depends on your instruments construction.

DR Extra Long Scale is about 40.5" Ball to Taper and is only available in 4 and 5 string sets. But a single High-C will work with that set as well for your sixer...

You need to measure from the back of the ball end to just past the nut and also ball end to thickest strings tuning post to determine the best string length for you.

Okay, so the 38" wont fit. Sorry, english isn't my first language, I'm not quite sure what you mean slapinfunk - "a single high-c will work with that set as well for your sixer" - does this mean i can buy a single DR c-string which is extra long scale (40,5")?

The Single High-C will fit any scale length bass. So as long as you purchase a single High-C string from DR it will work on your instrument.

So the answer is... Yes!

37.8 inches. Should be okay - I had a 37.5 that worked fine.

I need to read all posts before I post huh :P

Yeah if OP is at 37.8" then the standard Long Scale DR's are going to be long enough.

That's funny - I saw your post and was about to say "ignore me, listen to Jason".
