Will TI short-scale fit 30"?

I searched the treads but didn't find this.

TI makes a Hofner-friendly 32" set. Has anyone tried these on a standard 30" shortie?

I'm specifically interested in TI but any general wisdom on putting 32" strings on a 30" scale?

Thanx.

I have them on a 30" P type bass and they are fine. The E string metal wraps around the post but it shows no sign of distress. I had bad luck putting long scale LaBella Deep Talkin' Flats on a short scale. They broke.

The 32" scale is made for 32" through body stringing so it's a bit long. I have actually fit a set on a 34" scale bass through the bridge before. It would work on a 30" bass but I would think that the metal would wrap around all of the posts. Although jallenbass says only the E string and he's done it so I would trust that.

On a '67 EBO (bar bridge), the D and A are perfect. The business windings of the G and E both wind once around the posts. They're flexible enough to do so easily. They have been on for a year or four, and are doing fine.
