It's probably just you, haha. Every now and then it gets extra attention, but there are always people moving over to the flat-lands. I dig em on fretless, but not fretted. TI's are great flats.

It goes in cycles. They get discovered, they boom then last weeks news for a while.

I find that I love them on old school basses in the studio. But if you try to use them live there's not enough definition, especially in big halls with large PA's. Live I wouldn't use them unless it was a small club gig and the sound was mainly coming out of my amp.

In some cases like a 50's Fender, it's a sin to use roundwounds.
