Would like some string suggestions!

I'm a J bass style player and I really want to go with a set of strings that have a tapered B string and possibly E, but mainly the B needs to be tapered.

I've been using Dunlop strings and they are great, but I do miss having a tapered B string.

Sadowsky makes strings with a tapered B, but $30.50 plus shipping is a bit steep for me at this time.

SIT makes Taperwound strings. But they aren't the gauge that I like. I like an .85 A and .105 E.

Fender has a Taperwound set. The E is .110 but that should be ok. Anyone try or like these?

What are your thoughts and suggestions?

I am using Labella Hard Rockin' Steels on my J5 (.040-.128T) and I love them. Only the B is tapered, but it is a fantastic B string. I am normally a DR guy, but these are going to be hard to switch away from.

Ahhhh....I would go with Labella Slappers then. Don't be turned off by the name, they are not just a "slapper's" string. I've had them before, and liked them.

here's the problem though. i'm trying to find a set of strings with a tapered B for less money than the Sadowskys mentioned above.

right now it seems my options are Fender 8250-5m's or Sit Tapercores.

How did I not see the $$ part??

I believe that these are made for Carvin, by Labella(which would make them very similar, if not identical, to Slappers): Carvin.com :: 5011

I would verify that the B is tapered before buying. But, if it is a tapered B, these could be exactly what you were looking for.

Zachary Guitars "ZOG" strings have a tapered B and E
They're also graduated tension so your B is tight and punchy.
