Wrap on the end of strings?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm trying out some Chromes flatwounds, This is the first time I have played flats. On the A string the blue nylon, or whatever coating, was on the string where it crossed the nut. I never had this on any of my Rotosound Rounds I have been using. I am thinking I should trim back wrap and have the exposed string setting in the nut. What do you think?
Thanks for the help,
Steve

you need the super-long scale versions, then. in the meantime, sure, cut back that blue fuzz a little.

You have the wrong size (scale) strings.

Definitely keep the wrap out of the nut.

It's on my Fender Jazz bass and I put long scale strings on it. Always worked with the roundwounds I have been using. Are Chromes different in this regard?
Thanks for the inut.

Nothing a razor blade won't cure. Won't hurt it at all.
