Just threw a set of Wyres black nylon tapewound strings onto to my Sterling HH ...... way too much fun.
Not nearly as "old school" as I thought they might have been, still quite capable of 'modern' tone and the slap sound is like having a nice little bit of compression built in. If you get a chance to try any of the nylon tapewounds out there I highly recommend it. Of course, the Wyres are a great string and good price too but hey, LaBellas aren't too shabby either
