Yamaha Stock strings, where are you?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi...

about 10 months back, I purchased a yamaha RBX-270j. Couldn't have been happier with this choice. Great playing, great sounding bass. However,

I decided to change the strings after about 4 months, from the stock strings that came with the bass, to warwick yellow labels. Biggest mistake ever. I now want to go back to yamahas, but for the life of me, i cant find where to purchase a new set. the part number for them is H 4030, if anyone can tell me where i can purchase a set, i'd greatly appreciate it.

cheers.

I think I remember reading that Yamaha strings (in the US) are repackaged GHS strings (probably Boomers). You may want to try GHS.

Yamaha doesn't actually make anything; they are a marketing company that uses other manufacturers and puts the Yamaha name on.

You can order Yamaha strings from any Yamaha guitar dealer. They may take a while to come in, but you will eventually get them.

yeah i think they are the same as GHS. they both have the red wrapping on the top of the string.

but in my experience, yamaha strings and ghs strings died fast and ended up losing the brightness and sounded bassy.

i recommend using other brands if u want longer lasting strings in my own opinion

My Yamaha TRB1006 came with D'Addario's on it. Were the ball ends color coded like the D'Addario's?

ahh GHS....might have to invest in a pack or two.

might also explain why Tony Kanal from No Doubt uses only GHS boomers on his yamahas.
