Gentlemen,

As a jazzer, I've been plunking around on a few of the Suites for years now -- mainly as an exercise -- I never plan to perform these!

I've been using the blue Dimitry Markevitch Third Edition.

Any thoughts on this particular book?

I've limited my focus to the Prelude in Suite 1 in G Major and Bourree 1 & 2 in Suite 3 in C & C minor, respectively.

barenreiter is what i use cause it has a bunch of editions rolled up in one. I feel that it is interesting to see how editors have tried or not tried to balance ease of playing while keeping the dance quality of the quites in tact. I agree that the Bach suites are great for practice. And I would love to hear you play the bach suites Patrick!!!!!!

cello suite

I like the Edmund Kurtz (International) because it comes with a facsimile of the Anna Magdelena manuscript next to each movement.
