help with Bottesini's Fsharp concerto

Hello maestro Neher...

Im preparing right now the Bottesini's Fsharp concerto because Im playing it with orch. at the end of this month...
Hearing a couple recordings I notice that there are a couple "differences" that surprised me and made me think why?

At the beggining of the 3rd movement, the recordings of mr.Badila and mr.Furtok show's them playing the first bar (the first bar the bass plays) NON LEGATO, and in my two editions (hoffmeister and simmermann) I have a slur during all first mesure (and keep the same every time that motive appears. Are there other editions or they changed that because it is impossible to hear the notes when playing with the original articulation there.
Also the most difficult bar (the second one) is played all straight by mr. Badila (he plays just 8th notes).

I believe in freedom to phrase and change small things but as a composer I think this changes are quite "radical".

Also I will appreciate your opinion about the second movement, it`s getting hard to extract all the music on because there are too many notes to be an slow movement. Im looking for places to "sing" but I feel I have to many notes to do that.

I acctually don`t know the complete history of this concerto, if you can help me find a source to investigate I will appreciate too

Refer to ....

Hi,
Please refer to "Missing Accidentals in Yorke Edition..."; a sep. thread in this forum. Much of the philosophy of the issue you bring up is discussed.
Best to you!
