i have no idea whether or not this bass is plywood and it would be rly good, if someone could help me.

3/4 size
Pine (laminated) top
Maple neck, back & side (laminated)
Painted hardwood fingerboard

Just because it's plywood, doesn't mean it's bad. I've played plywood basses that have sounded beautiful.

Help? -- Double bass.

Don't own a Giordano and never played one, but apparently they are the "dreaded ccb" (cheap chinese bass). Maybe you can get one setup to sound decent for rockabilly, but setup cost will be higher and durability and resale less than a plywood bass of better quality. Not an "excellent value" IMHO.

And just some random advice. If you're ever checking out a bass in person, you can tell if it's plywood by checking the grain on the outside vs inside.

Matching grain = carved
Non = Plywood.
