| | | | f holes listen chaps, i'm playing quite loud more often than not and obviously depending on where stage space allows me to stand, i'm suffering from occasional feedback. i've got the f holes stuffed with the obligatory foam, but is there anything a bit more presentable and permanent? i believe some psycho players have filled the whole chamber with tyre foam and i've also heard of filling them in with glass fibre or epoxy resin. any practical ideas?

There a better ways to avoid feedback though, look here, Uncle Toad wrote the book.
Also, drop by www.Rockabillybass.com.

Most of my feedback seems to come from the cable that runs from my pickup (Revolution Solo II) to the jack. If the cable wasn't so stiff, it wouldn't be able to vibrate like that. I wish I knew what to do, maybe I can try wrapping it in some sort of absorbent material. After the cable, most of my feedback issues seem to come from the tailpiece assembly picking up vibration, but that's a lot easier for me to work around or eliminate. The cable stiffness, not so easy to deal with...

The "orientation" of the RSII lead seems to make a bit of difference. Try twisting the output jack just a little, and try the lead in different positions, so the wire makes more (or less) of an "S" shape.
