Fave Youtube vids - Rockabilly and such

I thought I'd liven up this place and maybe turn some cats onto some good music also by posting some of my favorite vids of current / recent Rockabilly and related bands. These will be well known to Rockabillybass.com forum cats, but not to alot of folks who may wander in here, or those new to the genre.

First, The Paladins: (circa late 80s early 90s?)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5yXefUGHts

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tTwmOofqwk

High Noon: (early 90s?)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DfWfwEKCwk4

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2cW84ZvKvY

Big Sandy & The Fly Rite Boys:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQbMpcdFQ4w

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9QCIYyWlQE

The Modern Sounds :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FkQ_OHq2jmk

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNQT3Apx_Uk

Deke Dickerson:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNugI96NHuM

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlNcB9OA4iA

Hillbilly Casino:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0Qx53DALz4

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zyTTO0Aaec

This is just barely the tip of the iceburg. This is all fairly current stuff.

Guys feel free to add to this thread, current bands or classics, I don't care. Enjoy.

Joe Fick is pretty entertaining to watch. This clip from him playing with his old band, The Dempseys, is great:

He also did a couple promo vids for the Thompson plywood basses that String Emporium (in Phoenix) is selling:

Not sure if you would call it Rockabilly or Punkabilly? Its Matt Freeman from Rancids side project, Devils Brigade.

Love The Paladins... Great tone Dave Gonzalez gets on that Guild.
Sings real well, too. I played in a Rockabilly band in the late 90's and would do so again in a heartbeat. )-(

Those are great Gearhead.

Here are two vids that to me capture the essence of rockabilly energy with two great bass players on each, but sharing the same front man, the vibrating, shaking and psycho-traditional late great Ray Condo...

This one from the Art Fein Poker Party series, with his long time jump swing bass player,
Clive Jackson, doing 'Ice Cold Water'. Love this one...

Ray Condo Band : Ice Cold Water on Art Fein's Poker Party - YouTube

And this one with none other than Peter Turland on bass. This vid is the essence of rockabilly energy for me. 'Hadacillin'. Great camera work on Ray also. Warning - don't watch this right before bedtime. You'll never sleep...

Ray Condo & His Ricochets - Hadacillin Boogie - YouTube

Ray Condo was the real deal. He's probably still got some shake left in him - may he RIP.

I'd be remiss if I didn't also post this one from an energy standpoint. Love Imelda's performance here, of course Daryl Higham rocked guitar in the cradle, and Al Gare on bass who makes his doghouse just jump and swing...

Imelda May - Don't Do Me No Wrong (cover) - Boardwalk - 2.12.08 - YouTube

That's it. Not going to post more vids. Gotta show restraint!

Cool bass player, I'm gonna try the "standing ON the bass technique" too when I'm brave enough
