How many of you Bi-amp,use ears, or just your amp?

I was just wondering how many players of rockabilly out there have gone thru the "I can't hear myself, what can I do?" problem. It was the slapping tick sound that I had a problem hearing with onstage. It's in the same frequency range as the guitar, cymbals, and snare. Which are also the loudest on stage and continue to get louder as the nite goes on. At first I always tried to hear my amp behind me. That became pretty useless after awhile. I eventually went to a bi-amp set up using a floor mnitor for the highs and a 15 or 18 for the lows. This helped tremendously. I now had a volume control for each cab and had the highs pointing towards me instead of behind me. Well, after lugging around all that for a couple of years and about 300 - 500 gigs I decided to investigate in ear monitors. Made the jump. Spent the money. Carrying less weight. Still usng an amp but much less weight. It took some tweaking but I can ALWAYS hear myself now. Anybody else gone thru this or are going thru this?
