List your rig

I know us slappers are an inquisitive bunch. Over on RABB there's always people asking questions about setups, amps etc. so I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread where we can list our stuff and give it a quick review. I'll start.

Basses:

My first bass, Andreas Zeller Romanian bass, huge bass with a carved front, ply back. Set up with an adjustable bridge, upgraded endpin and Emerson plain guts (the $75 from Upton). Has a K&K rockabilly pickup, sounds great for old school stuff, I use it for recording mainly and the occasional gig.

Roderich Paesold 590P, German built laminate bass, a fair bit smaller than the Zeller. Currently off duty for a while. I use a Schaller magnetic pickup on this with a piezo buzzer slap pickup and a Bassmax as a backup for either one. I have been using Eurosonic ULs on it but I want to try something else, maybe Spiro solos or Helicore solos. This is my stage bass and it is LOUD. It's currently in a sorry shape after I tried to refit the already too thin bridge feet and gouged the varnish, still this is just a good excuse to get it refinished in something a little more interesting and to order a bulletproof bridge.

Amp:

Asdown MAG 300 4x10 combo with a 1x15 MAG extension cabinet, great amp and cab, tough too, my amp has taken manys a fall, including the amp and cab both getting released from their restraints and banging together during a van wreck, gigged with them the next day and they sounded just the same as ever.

Stuff:

Behringer feedback destroyer pro. I use this when I gig the Zeller, it does the job but requires some setting up, it can also be used as an EQ.

AKG guitar bug wireless. It does the job and has been gigged plenty, batteries last OK and the sound isn't effected, it also gives me the freedom to show off a little with the bass, and move around a bit.

Last but not least, I use a surge protector. Every gigging musician should have one, some of the places we play have suspect wiring and you can end up plugging into a daisychain of power strips. It's just another line of defence between the maiuns supply and the amp's fuse.

That's a nice bass...though not exactly what you'd expect to find in a 'Billy or 'Grass gig...whatever floats your boat.

Why do people have different names here than there? I'm confused...

Upton Laminate Hawkes
Innovation Rockabilly's
Revolution Solo II
Boss tuner
GK800RB
Avatar 210's + 212's

I sure would like a clicky with pre-amp blender.

Because our group is mostly acoustic, and we don't have drums, I don't use an amp, and go straight into the PA.
