Mids in your slap?

Most people talk about mids in their basssound(most say...cut most of them...I agree)......but what´s about your fingerboard slap-piezo? Do you have any mids in your slap or only high(I use the K&K 2 channel preamp)????
My decision is, to take a few highs(not too much, cause a sharp slap doesn´t sound..about 3 from 1-10) and only tiny bit mids.....otherwise it sounds synthetic.
I play gut strings.
Sometimes I think about, to put much more mids in my slap......!!?????

What influence have mids to a slap-sound? Is it quite usual to put mids in slap-sounds or is it usual to cut all the mids in your slap and to work only with highs???????????? What sounds most natural?
