Need some help with a cover (Devil's Chasing Me by Rev HH)

Hi all. Hope this is the right sub forum...

Can anyone give me a hand in recognizing that parts Jimbo plays in Reverend Horton Heat's "The Devil's Chasing Me"? I've trying to copy from the YouTube video but I can't seem to get it right.

Thanks!

Can you be more specific about what you're having trouble with? The actual notes he's playing?
This video?

Yep, the notes. Well to be even more specific, the pattern he's playing. While tab would be great, what would be better is an understanding of what/why he's playing. Some sort of walk? An odd formed arppegio? Or just a tab and I'll dissect it and see how it all flows and try and gather the "why". In short- I've looked at the guitar tabs and trying to understand the progressions Jimbo is playing.

That whole asking for a fish versus learning how to fish thing. ;)

It's in Em. Learn that scale and triad. The song isn't complicated.

Complicated when you've only been playing standup for a month! ;)

In all seriousness though, thanks a ton for the reply. That's almost exactly the type of response I was looking for. Now to go dig up some info on triads...

Maybe learn the patterns on electric bass or guitar then transfer over to upright, so you can be more sure of the notes...it's a really easy song, but the way Jimbo has always eq'd his bass, the notes can be a little tough to make out
