Question Pick-ups Transducers

I'm thinking of buying a two part pick-up for Slap.--one on the bridge and one for underneath the fingerboard.
I have seen cheap ones advertised and expensive ones. Is it adviseable to avoid the cheap ones?
Your recomendations?
Do a lot of you who slap use steel strings?

Mike, get the Bass Master Rockabilly Transducer Network:

You probably need a pre-amp to go with that as well.

I think you will be disappointed if you buy a cheap pickup.

i second the advice for the gollihur"s stuff...
after tests with tons of cheaps pu, systems and others, i came back to the little k&k fingerboard transducer and preamp to mix it with my FWF pu. for this use (i mean enhance slap sound if needed), it give me the sound i need...
