They look cool, but I would be in question of their quality for the most part.

Hi.

Those look very good indeed.

Like said above, the quality is a bit of a concern though. I have no personal experience with these so called "rockabilly basses" from China, but there's a several suppliers of those here in Europe too. For the most times without the fancy paint though.

IIRC Thomann sells them plain for 399€.

I've headrd of one reseller here in Finland too. He inspect the basses, sets them up, and off they go. Not sure about the quality either, but the one owners guitarist I spoke with, didn't know about any problems.

If You're in the neigbourhood (yes, my geography sucks a bit ), check them out. Knowing what hand painted pinstripes and custom graphics go for, the price may be a killer. If those are in deed handpainted and not CNC.

Regards
Sam

Those are just CCBs with fancy paint jobs. The Fantastical Muzic Instermints guy sells those.

You make it sound like it's a bad thing? One or the other . Or both???

I'd suppose no-one with a full deck would believe the source being any other than some Oriental country, mainly China.

My very limited experience with Chinese instruments has been surprisingly good.

I'd guess it ultimately comes down to the CS and the warranty, I do have heard that CCB's tend to self destruct because of the poor craftmanship and construction/materials.
A superb DIY source though IMHO.

T-Bird: It is BAD advice to encourage the purchase of a Cheap Crappy Bass from FMI because you think they look good.

It comes down to a "proven" bass being FAR better value than a CCB.

Here is a link to a thread in which the proprietor of FMI participates. Would you do business with this guy?

Mine's not an advice just a personal opinion, and I really don't think anyone takes my opinions and/or advice too seriously. And why should they, this is ****** internet, anyone can pretend to be anyone or have any experience about, well... everything if they wish .

Certainly, I guess that's OP's reason behind this thread.

"Rockabilly Bass Master" ??? What a handle .

Thank's for the link, enjoyed reading that. Too bad he didn't post more, his replies reminded me a bit of Devries. Brian power, You know .

No I probably wouldn't do bussiness with him unless it was in person, and I would have a pretty bad picture in my mind even before meeting him. It might not end well...

BTW, I still think the basses look good.
