So far I'm really impressed with them, they have a good tone and reasonable sustain, and they're comfortable to play pizz or slap. I've not played guts so I can't say how they compare, but I'm happy with the SilverSlaps right now.

The D/G tone is almost identical to gut, while E/A sound like what plain gut would sound like if you could actually hear it .. if you know what I mean.
The click sound is minutely harsher than gut... if you really want that thunky sound gut is the only way to go.
