The old Kings, or the more recent, King Doublebass? I have a custom King Doublebass, and a Blast Cult on the way

I wish I owned an old one, but I mean the Slap/Road kind. I have a custom myself, a Slap King.

Did they make more than one of the bass in the picture? If not I played it at NAMM a few years back!

Oh and whats a blastcult? The bass?

You're behind the times, king double bass company folded earlier this year. Founder Jason cleared up the mess and launched new company, Blastcult double bass.

So all King basses suddenly become collectors items. A bit like the vintage Kings that I prefer... well, a bit.

I have RoadKing #12. Jason told me it was the first Orange-Burst that they made. It doesn't get much playing time these days, but I love it.

I used to work there and own a Tiger King. I would really like to find out who is playing that ol' thing......

(not much help, I know, but thought I'd join in)

My Custom KDB "outhouse" bass was the only one they ever made...it's a beauty though!

I just got a new custom Blast Cult...best live bass I've ever owned.

KDB player from Canada

Hey everyone,

Cam here from Saskatoon, SK. Canada. I own Tiger King #20, a blue-black sunburst purchased in January 2006. Great and durable - bass has been through a LOT and is still going. Its a bit of a battle to keep it properly humidified but that is to be expected in this part of our country.

Why would you need to humidify a plywood bass, even in Canada?
