Hello all
I was wondering if some one could point me to a book - DVD even better - , some place here at TB or another link where I can learn chords on the bass and how to apply them when playing.
Thanks much
Steel

Smile here you go ............

I can't believe noone else has responded, so here's one I know of. No experience with it, however.

Chords

Steel, I have nine bass books out but none of them deal exclusively with playing chords on the bass, although my Complete Electric Bass Method Mastering book does have a chapter discussing chords on the bass and my Versatile Bassist book does also. I found that in my 33 years of bass playing, if you know how to create a chord in terms of what notes to play you can pretty much discover fingerings on your own rather easily. Knowing notes of a chord is key to do this so hopefully you have some theory knowledge. If not, check out a chapter in one of the books I mentioned or perhaps there is another resource dealing exclusively with playing chords.

I bought a book by Jonas Hellborg at GC, I think the title was Chord Bassics or something like that.

In the future Todd Johnson will have a DVD on chordal playing. Having seen Todd perform on numerous occasions I have an interest this product and will get it soon as it is available.
