Double Popping

This is one area that has really held me back for some time. Every time I try to do it, I end up digging in hard and playing clumsy and slow. I've tried practicing paradiddles and I seem to do it fine there, but when I apply the double pop to regular slap, it comes out bad.

Are there any videos out there demonstrating the proper technique? Also, is it better to go with the middle finger or ring finger for the second pop?
