EBS BASS IQ vs. Mu-Tron III+

Sign in to disble this ad
I have narrowed my envelope filter selection to the EBS BASS IQ and the Mutron III+. I've only heard samples online (more so for the EBS), so I like the EBS's sound; however, I feel the Mu-Tron III won't disappoint either. So in terms of playing fast percussive runs via slappin/poppin, which is better? I do like Bootsy's sound on Mothership Connection. Does the Mu-Tron have true bypass? Is one noisier than another? What do you think? Eventually I will probablly purchase both.

I've never used a Mutron III+, but I have been very happy with the IQ. Whether playing fast or slow, fingerstyle or slap it sounds great. I use a Bassballs, IQ and a Chunk OS and the IQ is my favorite filter. Its also very touch sensitive so its very easy to "play" the pedal and get lots of different tones just with your fingers.
