5ths Tuning, Replacing Low C string

Tbh I don't even know what sort of C-string I have on currently, all I know is it is not mine, really old, feels sort of like a rubber band, stretching and near the breaking point, and is almost impossible to play with any articulation. I'd like to replace it with a string that has some punch, but am mostly clueless about low Cs.

Any suggestions? FYI, I have Permanent Solo As and F#/G and a Flexocor D that are balancing really well.

Well I went ahead and ordered a Spirocore low C and a dominant A, since I hadn't really researched it before hand :/. Might post some sound clips if I'm able to when I get comfortable with them.

You should hook up with our great 5ths player buddy here, Chris Symer.

Illfavor, the Spiro C is a good string. I've usually got Spiros on the C and G with something else on the top. Right now it's Flatchrome Steel which is working well. Mixing sets is one thing but are you sure you need four different strings to make it work? That's more fuss than I'm willing to deal with, but if it works for you.............

Thanks guys!

Chris I only mix so many strings because I'm a poor college student!
