Actual String lengths?

Hey guys, I'm working on an Eub and have a question. I would like to know how long a typical Db string is tip to tip. Not scale length. The Eub will be a 41 1/2 scale. The reason I'm asking is that i would like to use through-body stringing instead of a tailpiece. Do you think there is enought length in the string for this? If you know specific string lengths, I will probably end up with d'addario hybrids.

You can consider that there is about 10 inches between the contact point at the bridge and the string ball. More or less depending on the bass.
You should be able to make your calculations with that.
I advise that you put a piece of wood to decrease the string angle, where the string will exit from the body though. Try to get the same angle a regular tailpiece would give on an acoustic bass.
Of course this is only applicable if you want to use a bridge with a relatively normal height.
