Hi There,

Anyone know what these strings are...?
I played them on a hire bass in Prague and although the bass wasn't geat, but the strings seemed interesting....

sky blue ish at the bottom with the brown, yellow etc at the scroll.

p.s. not superflex or orig flexicores...

thanks,

Do you remember the exact color sequence at the tuners?

What about the A & E ?

Were they thick (so possibly using a synthetic core) or thin like regular steels ?
(I had an Innovation 140B G string which had sky blue silk at the tailpiece end)

They felt a lot like spirocore, but perhaps a little warmer.

They definitely weren't innovation as i've played on those in the past.

Perhaps they were a student/economy string?

I've never tried any of these, but given that it was from a backline hire company, that might fit.

cheers,

Sounds like Superflex solo. What does the ball end look like?

Do those strings have different colours at the peg end?

I didn't see the ball ends as soundcheck and gig were pretty hectic...

Superflex solos are all yellow at the peg-end.
An "S" is on one side of the ball. (the other side being the string number, eg I, II, III, IV)
Orchestrals have an "O" instead.

Is this the same pale blue as Superflex, or a darker one?
(I'm also thinking of D'Addario Preludes)

if the winding is the same colour as the packet, then, as far as I can remember that was pretty much the colour....

Student strings eh....very interesting.

Thanks,

Are you sure they aren't the innovation honey's-the ones that francois was talking about? They don't feel or look like the other innovations (that I've seen). Pretty close to spiros.

They are a hybrid string, metal wrap with a synthetic core. I can take a picture if you want.

Hey,

Sorry these are so late. I hope they're helpful. The "ballends" (more like rods) are particularly distinctive.

Peace,
Ben

Thanks,
The blue on the web site is not quite the same.
There's a scan I did today.

BTW, these strings have IMHO the best quality/price ratio on the market today.
You ought to want a dark tone though.
They're similar to Helicore Orchestrals in darkness, but still darker, in my experience with them.

Your strings are Inovation Honeys model 140H. I am positive of that. The 140B (braided) will have the same feel but darker. The braided is the same color on the bottom but has about a 3" yellow band.

Yep. I have the Honeys on now and can confirm these are them.
