Question Belcanto and Obligato

Are Belcanto and Obligato the same thing? They both don't have solo tunning strings. Does it mean I can't use any of them when I play with solo tunning? Or they both can be over tunned?

Belcanto is made by Thomastik and is a steel string.

Obligato is made by Pirastro, has a synthetic core with steel outer wrap, and IS available in solo tuning.
They even released a fifth tuning set recently.

Obligatos are available in solo gauge, I have folks ordering them all the time, sometimes tuning them to orchestra pitch in order to have a lower tension version of the string.

Not yet.
They're not even released in Europe and Canada yet.
Just the US I think.

It will be a great day in my life when BelCanto's are released in solo tuning.
