Best prices online for string sets?

I'm looking for Thomastiks or Hybrids, 1/2 size (well, I'm 5' tall...I could get 3/4 and get out my scissors).

If you know of any other Jazz strings that are good for pizz and arco, I'd appreciate advice as well.

I apologize if there is another post like this, but I wasn't able to find one by searching. Thanks for any ideas.

Bob G. has a good selection of 1/2 size DB strings.

Corellis are interesting too.
Very thin, and they can sound quite bright for a few weeks.

Merci, François! I was wondering about the Corellis. May try those and some Hybrids and compare. The Hybrids only last me 3 months though

3 months?
You like them very bright?
Why did you change them that soon?

Oh, it's 'cause I play a lot. They simply wear out and have no life left. Ordered Corellis last night and looking forward to trying them. Thomastiks have sure gone up in price a lot!

Wow, I play a lot and my Corellis lasted almost two years before I had to replace them. Do you wipe the strings down after you play? or maybe you don't like the sound of them after they are broken in, in which case I reccomend you switch to spirocore weichs.

The Hybrids are a bit darker than spiros in my experience.

I do wipe the strings down after playing. They simply went dead (not dark, but toneless) after 3 months. I was playing really a lot, so that may be why. I just got the Corellis in the mail today and look forward to hearing them. I really appreciate your comments and help. Thanks to all of you.

Which set did you buy, if I may ask?

Of course you can ask! 350A mediums.

I just realized that Corellis are made by Savarez in France. I lived there when I was younger and go back once or twice a year. I'm a little confused as to whether they are cheaper there, but I'll look next time if these new ones play well on my bass.
