Cool Breaking in new Dominants

I've just today replaced my trusty Helicores with Dominants in my ongoing battle with the bow. The G string seemed to take to the bass straightaway and is much nicer to bow than the Helicore. Trouble is, the other 3 strings sound like they're never going to settle in - I'm getting this awful scratchy, metallic sound when I start the string with the bow.

Now I guess, as usual, this could be down to any number of variables but I'm wondering has anyone experinced this with Dominants and did they eventually settle down? Whilst (definitely) not exactly Gary Karr, I do have a bit of history with the bow, and I don't think my technique's suddenly gone awol!

Any thoughts would be much appreciated please before I put the 3 Helicores back on............?!

Give them some time - they take a week or two to settle in.

Thanks for your words of encouragement Chris - I'll hang in there! They're nice for the pizz stuff - much better initial attack than the Helicores......

In my experience anyway, the Doms bow better once they have a coating of rosin on them.
