I usually use Quinns Violins for strings - they are one of the cheapest if you factor in their free shipping, and have good service.

Concord often has better prices, but their shipping charges can cancel that out sometimes.

If you are outside of CA (and therefore don't pay tax on your purchase) then Lemur Music has good prices, great service and very quick delivery.

Quinn and Lemur have the best selection and usually the best prices. Some popular brands -- Spirocore, Obligato, Superflexible, Helicore, etc. -- may be found on special from other retailers from time to time. Google the brand you want and compare against Quinn and Lemur's price. Also, sometimes new sets are for sale on Ebay.

Weedwhackers from Barefoot Larry work great too...$20 bucks with shipping, all depends on the sound you want though.
