Chorda strings

I've bought a Kay S-9, 1952, and I want gut strings for it. Are the Chorda strings worth the price ? Any other suggestions ? Thanks.

EPs!!
Sound great on my old Blonde '40s Kay
Guts would be great also-just need to deal with climate changes, humidity, etc.
Make sure you make the nut & bridge slots wide enough-wider than most steel strings.
Had an Olive E string snap at the nut on a hot & humid summer day. Expen&ive mistake!
Good luck.

Chordas are wonderful. I've had Clefs, LaBellas, vintage guts and most of the synthetics. My beat up old Chordas are my favorite.

I love the sound of guts but I found that trying to play them was like walking in deep beach sand.

do you have expierence with guts? are you asking as far as guts go are these good ones? or are you asking if you should try gut strings?

as far as i know they are good gut strings. if you dont have any experience with guts, start out with a G string to test the waters. people say that you play slower on guts, but i have a few youtube videos that say otherwise. i can actually play more stuff and more easily on my guts than on my steels

Thank you all. I've had 2 different gut sets; one of unknown origin given to me by another bass player, (They were very fat and old), and one set I bought at David Gage's store in NYC, Lenzner I think. Right now I'm using Pirastro Eudoxa on my other bass. They are the best strings I've ever had, but they still have a bit of that modern "whine".
