With this instrument I play Bluegrass and Rockabilly slap but also need a good pizzicato sound. I'm not satisfied with Fmi weedwacker strings I'm using, no sound on A and E string.
I'm thinkin'about Cordes Lambert and Innovation Silver Slap, what are the differences between those strings? And what about pizz sounds?
Anybody compared them?
Thanks

So I guess I will be going with the Silver Slaps. Thanks for linking me. I love it when I ask a question, and you get refered to 1000 different threads.

Not the most sound business decision, but from what I understand it's really just the one guy doing it in botique fashion...and yeah, he's awful concerning online communication! Hopefully he'll get his strings together and his online store as well. Right now you're doing the right thing going with the Innovations, although I've played on the Lamberts and liked them a lot...my own feeling is that I'll give 'em the summer to see if they get it together and then maybe try buying some strings. |

I understand Lambert is busy in developement of new strings, but not answering to mails after 3 month is not good for me and, sorry, not serious (sending an email saying no strings available till..... would be kind).
Thanks everybody for your help |

Thanks everybody for your help | That's reasonable, of course. The only thing I can say in their defense is it is a VERY small operation...mostly one guy, with another partner. On their last go round, they simply couldn't make the strings fast enough for the demand and it got them into trouble...kinda like how your feeling right now. So they decided to 'shut down' for awhile, do some research, make sure their QC was in check and make enough sets to satisfy all of their customers once they reopen. I know this doesn't make it any less frustrating when you don't get return emails though.

Good acoustic tone (weedwackers had only click and no sound), more tension than weeds but still easy for slap. They sounds and feels very similar to Europhonics medium I have on another upright (but Euros takes 2 years to sound good).
Thanks to everybody for helping. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
